In past works, Maggie explored the idea of ‘edgelands’ – meaning the overlooked physical spaces around towns and cities, often neglected, but a haven for wildlife and uncultivated plants.
More recently she has experienced a more personal sense of wilderness, adjusting to bereavement and a new home in unfamiliar territory. Addressing this inner ‘edgeland’ condition, Maggie’s work cultivates new shoots of wild-life and hope emerging from trauma.
