Toshiko Banton

Toshiko has always lived in cities, in Japan and the U.K. and her recent work reflects this experience. She aims to convey some of the noise, energy, drama, change and complexity of urban life.

To this end she employs a variety of materials including photographic reproductions, acrylic and ink to create mixed media collages illustrating these preoccupations. These works are part of a longer term project which she entitles ‘Feelings and Impressions’.
