Toshiko recreates particular moments and memories of being in cities and is stimulated by the busyness of city life. Experiencing it as if for the first time even while being comforted by an underlying sense of the familiar.
Her choice of colours strive to capture seasonal changes that emerge even in urban environments. She works with mixed media particularly photos and paint layered over the picture surface.
