The Holborn Group is a collective of artists working in a wide variety of media including drawing, printmaking, painting, photography and sculpture. We all studied together on the City Lit Fine Art course, and following the successful end of course exhibition at the Espacio Gallery in 2016, we formed The Holborn Group to continue our artistic development and exhibit our latest works. The group is not currently open to new members.
Our first, warmly received, group exhibition Works on Paper was held in 1917 at the R.K. Burt Gallery, followed by Works on Paper 2018 in the same place, showcasing the group’s latest work. A further exhibition, Urban Dreams, followed at the Gallery, Cowcross Street, in late 2018. For details of upcoming events, see our news page.
In addition, individual members have been selected for exhibitions including the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers The Masters, 2016, Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition 2018, and the Royal Watercolour Society Contemporary Watercolour Competition in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Wolfgang Woerner won the Winsor and Newton First Prize in the 2017 RWS competition, and former group member Linda Black was short-listed for the 2017 Jackson’s Open Painting Prize. Olivia Adamczyk O’Sulivan is the winner of the Royal Watercolour Society Award 2019.
